I think each of the profound loves in our lives continue to affects us, inform us and in some ways drive us. I spent 23 years of loving, but not being in love with, someone. That experience weaves itself through my subsequent and current relationships. Whether it’s that I expect a new partner to be (be like) the previous one or I suddenly grasp a realisation of my own behavior/thought process encountering a new partner, our current experience is the synthesis of our past experiences.

Thank you for a beautiful piece and capturing the feeling of realisation without the shame that might be associated.
